Timeline

Our route through Peru
  • Tues 5th Nov: Flew from Heathrow to Lima via Mexico City. Stayed in an AirBnB near San Miguel for five days (read more here and here). 
  • Sat 9th Nov: Moved from our super nice AirBnB to Cosy Wasi Hostel in Barranco and then on to Hostel Gemina the next night, where we met our tour group (read more here).
  • Mon 11th Nov: Caught our first bus to Nazca where we stayed in a surprisingly nice hotel at the end of a very bumpy dirt track! Spent a day visiting the Nazca lines and sandboarding before an overnight bus to Arequipa and a stop in Chivay (read more here).
  • Fri 15th Nov: We spent the day visiting Colca Canyon and other local towns before another night bus to Cusco. After an overnight stay here, we moved to a village called Ccaccaccollo where we stayed with a family, then moved on to Ollantaytambo (read more here).
  • Tues 19th Nov: Started the Inca Trail, which meant four days and three nights of camping and hiking (read more here).
  • Fri 22nd Nov: Machu Picchu (read more here), and back to Cusco for a few days to recover! (Read more here)
  • Mon 25th Nov: Moved from Peru to Chile via a 17hr bus journey and then a taxi across the border. Two nights in Arica at Hostel Sunny Days, an overnight bus to San Pedro de Atacama and two nights at the Backpackers Hostel (read more here).
  • Sun 1st Dec: Began a four day tour to Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia then returned to San Pedro for one night. (read more here).
  • Thurs 5th Dec: Moved from Chile to Argentina! First stop, AirBnB in Salta. Second stop, Rusty-K Hostel in Cafayate (read more here).
  • Fri 13th Dec: Overnight bus to Cordoba and a stay at the Greengo Hostel.
